גדעון ארן הוא פרופ' לסוציולוגיה ואנתרופולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. הוא חוקר ומרצה בנושאי דת, מצד אחד, ובנושא הקיצוניות, מצד שני, ובעיקר הוא מתמחה בחקר הקשר שבין השתיים.

Gideon Aran is a Professor of sociology & anthropology at the Hebrew university, Jerusalem, who studies both religion and extremism, and particularly their intersection.
